    For Security Guard at NC-1
Sentinel Data Centers, a provider of enterprise wholesale data centers for Fortune 100/500 companies, is seeking Security Officer(s) for its Durham, NC location. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 1-2 years corporate security or law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 years experience in law enforcement or security field
  • CPR/First Aid or EMT certification highly desirable
  • Good communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure in emergency situations
  • Valid NC Drivers License
  • Good conflict resolutions skills
  • Work Schedule flexibility and ability to work overtime

Working Conditions

The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires some lifting, exterior work in inclement weather, sitting and standing for extended periods of time.

Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Perform interior and exterior patrols as directed by the security supervisor or management
  • Provide basic (non-technical) backup facilities support
  • Alert management immediately about any policy violations, accidents, or other unusual occurrences
  • Prepare written reports on policy violations, accidents and other unusual occurrences
  • Provide security on various assigned shifts, as directed security supervisor or management
  • Initiate investigations under the direction of supervisor or management
  • Provide physical and personnel security as defined by the company
  • Implement company Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines
  • Inspect all fire safety devices such as exit signs, fire extinguishers, and other security alarm equipment on a weekly basis
  • Support security supervisor or management as needed
  • Receiving deliveries on loading dock
  • Assist in other areas, as assigned

Technical Skills

  • PC proficiency
  • Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge and use of CCTV systems
  • Knowledge and use of card access systems
