New York, NY – January 23, 2012  Sentinel Data Centers, a leading owner, developer and operator of multi-tenant data centers for large-footprint users, announced today that it recently  received SSAE 16 (Type II) certification for its NJ-1 data center.

The independent SSAE service audit covered the period from Sentinel’s turn up of the NJ-1 facility on March 1, 2011 to October 31, 2011 and resulted in an exception free statement of compliance with respect to a stringent set of operational and security controls.

“We are committed to operational excellence,” said Paul Hines, Sentinel’s Vice President of Data Center Operations, “and will continue to perform SSAE 16 audits annually at each of our facilities as one of multiple means by which we ensure continual adherence to the best practices that our Fortune 500 customers expect from us.”

SSAE 16, developed by the Auditing Standards Board (“ASB”) of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”), replaces the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (“SAS 70”), which was deemed after multiple decades of use to have certain limitations technology service providers.
